Thank you for considering hosting as Emcee for ISTA Conferences and special events.  Our philosophy is that of serving the vision of walking a higher path of universal love through self-less service.  This does not mean that you will be overworked for no return.   This invitation is an honor and ISTA fully supports your abilities and personal presence to represent the brand.

Roles and Responsibilities

Prior to the event:

• Attend a minimum of three volunteer meetings leading up to the event
• Understand the process and flow of the volunteer roles so you can refer inquiries
• Contact each of your speakers to introduce yourself and establish rapport
• Assist in obtaining your speaker's bios and preferred method of introduction
• Place ISTA logo, banners and links to your email blasts, website,  social media networks

At the event:

• Be present and an example of the vision of unity in the community
• Be prompt and manage your timekeepers effectively
• Check in with your speakers to confirm schedules
• Carry a full program at all times so you can refer inquiries to appropriate location or volunteer(s)
• Be aware of mic and camera angles and repeat audience questions in your answers
• Be prepared to make announcements with little notice
• Manage schedule changes with grace and ease
• Mediate any chaos or conflict with a sense of balance to both sides of the issue
• Limit ISTA and self-promotion to appropriate mood of your audience (a common complaint is overselling)
• Give credit to all who contribute
• Give awards to keynotes and feature speakers and gift bags to all speakers
